EZ Florida Divorce and Parenting Education Requirement

In  EZ Florida Divorce, divorcing parents with minor children are required by law to complete a Parent Education and Family Stabilization Course. This law, detailed in  EZ Florida Divorce statute 61.21, is designed to help parents understand the divorce process and its potential impact on their children, emphasizing the child’s best interest.

Key Points of the Requirement

Course Approval

  • The course must be approved by  EZ Florida Divorce’s Department of Children and Families.
  • It can be taken online, but only from approved providers.

Certificate of Completion:

  • Each parent must submit a Certificate of Completion to the court.
  • The judge cannot finalize the divorce without this certificate from an approved course.

Timing:

  • In an agreed divorce, parents have 45 days to complete the course.
  • It is advisable to complete the course as soon as possible, ideally when filing the case with the court.

  • The course provided by Our Parenting Class is approved by  EZ Florida Divorce’s Department of Children and Families and is accepted by all District Courts in  EZ Florida Divorce.
